FAQ: Spices

What is the minimum order for the spices?

The minimum number of spices that you can order is just 1. 

What is your turnaround time?

We aim to select, pack and ship your spices within 2 working days for all orders placed Monday - Friday by 14.00. For orders placed over the weekend then the first working day will be classed as Monday. It's worth noting that although we say 'within 2 working days' we do try our best to ship as soon as possible. If you need your spices urgently just ping us an email.

My spice mix looks slightly different to last time, why?

We make our spice blends by hand, we weigh them out every single time and one batch of spice whether it be in its raw state pre blended, or as part of our blended batch can vary slightly from time to time despite still tasting the same. We enjoy these subtle differences which may sometimes crop up as it reminds us of the fact that we are using natural ingredients which haven't been manufactured to always be identical. 

Is there any where else I can purchase your spices?

FAQ: Meal Kits

When can I get my hands on a meal kit?

If you click here and scroll down so then you can sign up to find out when we release more dates.

What is the minimum order?

At this time the minimum order value for our meal kits is £44 (plus national delivery).  See the Products and Check Out pages for more details.

Why does the email notification say it is coming from Adam Handling?

Adam Handling has kindly helped with the logistics of our meal box going nationwide. We therefore send our Myristica at Home meal kits from his Covent Garden store.

When do I need to order by to get my meal kit delivery ?

Orders need to be placed no later than Monday midday to get delivery on Friday should that be the date we are delivering.

Can you deliver to my address?

We can deliver to any mainland address in the United Kingdom excluding the Highlands of Scotland, Channel Islands and Remote parts of the UK. You can always email us at eat@myristica.co if you are unsure about whether or not we deliver to you.

Why can I only order for certain dates?

We are planning to open up more dates in the future depending on demand.

How long will the delivery last if it is refrigerated?

We recommend consuming the meal kit no later than 48 hours from the time of delivery.

What time will I receive my delivery?*

All deliveries will be through DHL on the Delivery Date that you have chosen.

Do I have to be home to receive my delivery?

It’s always better to take our food delivery in order to put your food into the correct storage. DHL will provide you with options. Please note that once the delivery is with DHL, we will not be liable for any delivery issues.

Can I freeze any of the food?

We wouldn’t recommend freezing any of the food, as the quality will be affected. However, if you wanted to freeze the chicken, we suggest freezing the chicken in the bag it arrives in as soon as it is delivered.

I have dietary requirements – how do I make you aware of these?

Unfortunately at this time we can’t cater to specific dietary requirements. All allergies are detailed below however are subject to change. Feel free to contact us at eat@myristica.co if you have any allergies you wish to inform us so that we can bear this in mind for future meal kits.

How much cooking / preparation work is required?

We’ve tried to make it easy for you and we have done most of the cooking for you. The only ingredients which are in need of cooking are the chicken and the peppers. All other components are cooked and can simply be reheated. 

Our meal kit comes with e-instructions which are emailed to you prior to you receiving your delivery but also available to see on our site under the page 'cooking e-instructions.'

How is your packaging sustainable?

As always, we have tried our best to use products which are environmentally friendly.

  • Our  vacuum pouches are manufactured from a biodegradable composite film made from polyamide (PA) and polyethylene (PE).
  • Our boxes are kept chilled with ice packs which are made entirely of LDPE material which is completely recyclable through your normal household recycled collections. Don’t forget to empty the contents down the drain or even water your plants with it – the water is the purest there is, your plants will love it!
  • Our reflective box liner which keeps the food chilled doesn’t need to be thrown away once you’ve unpacked your food. Wipe down, and when you’re next transporting your food (hot or cold) use this handy carrier to keep it at the right temperature.
  • Our food containers are made from FSC-certified paperboard material. This means the boxes are kinder to Earth's natural resources and recyclable too. The lids which are made from polypropylene material are recyclable after use too. 

What allergens are present in the food?

Allergens of are stated on the order page.

Unfortunately at this time we can’t cater to specific dietary requirements or allergens but can inform you as to how certain allergens are within our products.

How do you keep meals fresh during the delivery?

Meal kits are packed in insulated packaging with chilled cool packs, to keep your food as fresh as possible during the delivery process.

I would like to cancel my order?

Orders can only be cancelled or amended within 24 hours of placing an order or no less than 7 days before your chosen delivery date. Orders placed after this timeframe cannot be cancelled.

I have a problem with my order, can you help?

If you have any problems when placing an order, after placing an order or once you have received your food, then please get in touch with our team so that we can help with a quick resolution.

My order was cancelled why was that?

This could be for a few reasons such as not being within our delivery catchment area.  We will confirm the reason via email to you.  Please note Management reserve the right to decline or refund an order without notice.

I loved my order! How can I support your small business?

Thanks for your order, it is greatly appreciated! We love our customers to tell their friends and family about what we do. It really motivates our team to see photos of our customers enjoying their meals so please tag us on Facebook or Instagram. If you can spare a moment and leave us positive reviews on our social media channels that is another great way that you can support us.
